ICAS 2021/22 Office Bearers and Council election results announced at our virtual AGM

The 2021 ICAS AGM was held online on 30 April. The ICAS Office Bearers for 2021/22 and the results of the elections to Council were both confirmed during the meeting.

In order to comply with COVID-19 social-distancing restrictions, the ICAS AGM was, for a second year, held online.

During the meeting the names of the ICAS Office Bearers for 2021/22 were confirmed, along with the results of the elections to ICAS Council. Voting was also undertaken on a range of separate AGM resolutions.

ICAS Office Bearers for 2021/22 confirmed

The Office Bearer appointments for 2021/22 were confirmed during the meeting as follows:

  • President – Bruce Pritchard CA
  • Deputy President – Indy Hothi CA
  • Vice President – Clive Bellingham CA

Bruce Pritchard CA takes over as President from Catherine Burnet CA, Regional Chair for KPMG in Scotland, and will serve a year in office. You can learn more here about his appointment and the appointments of the Deputy and Vice President.

ICAS would like to thank Catherine Burnet CA for the hugely positive contribution she made to ICAS throughout her year in office.

ICAS Council election results

The results of the ICAS Council elections were also announced. Congratulations to the successful candidates, thanks to all Members who took part and to everyone who got involved, considered their choices and cast their votes.

Open Seat position

The ICAS Council Open Seat position received two nominations and an election was held. The successful candidate was Annie Graham CA. The full results were:

  • Total number of votes cast was 1933.
  • The number of votes cast in favour of Annie Graham CA was 1083.
  • The number of votes cast in favour of Kenneth Croarkin CA CPA (USA) was 850.

England, Wales and Northern Ireland – Electoral Area Seat position

The ICAS Council Electoral Area Seat position for England, Wales and Northern Ireland received two nominations, and an election was held. The successful candidate was Rimla Akhtar MBE CA. The results were:

  • Total number of votes cast was 1796.
  • The number of votes cast in favour of Rimla Akhtar MBE CA was 939.
  • The number of votes cast in favour of Kate Barekati CA was 857.

Scotland North – Electoral Area Seat position

The Scotland North Electoral Area position was open to nominations but was not contested, meaning that the sole candidate, Chris Campbell CA, was elected unopposed.

AGM resolution voting results

The proxy voting and in-person voting results on each Resolution were also announced and both were carried. The results were:

Receive and approve the Annual Review and Consolidated Financial Statements

For - 1333
Against - 15
Abstain - 52

Resolution 2
To approve the appointment of Martin Gill, BDO LLP as ICAS Auditor

For - 1307
Against - 38
Abstain - 57

BDO as ICAS auditor confirmed that all those who voted in the election are valid voting members of ICAS and that the election was carried out in accordance with ICAS Regulations.
