Notice of ICAS Council election 2023

Electoral Area Seat vacancies

There will be four Electoral Area seat vacancies on Council at the 2023 AGM. Members whose place of business or home address is within an Electoral Area at the time of the election shall be entitled to stand for election as a member of Council to represent that Electoral Area. The regions are covered by each Electoral Area are set out in the Appendix.

Open Seat vacancies

There will be one open seat vacancy arising at the 2023 AGM.

Process for nominations of candidates for Electoral Area and Open Seats

Members will be sent details of how to access the dedicated nominations site and submit nominations in February 2023.

Each nomination for an Electoral Area seat must be proposed by ten Members whose places of business or home addresses are within the same Electoral Area as the candidate.

Each nomination for an Open seat must be proposed by ten Members (who may be registered in a different Electoral Area from the candidate).

All candidates must confirm their willingness to serve on Council if elected.

All nominations must be lodged with the ICAS Secretary on or before 5:00 GMT on Monday 13 March 2023.

If there are more nominations than vacancies for a Council vacancy, an election will be held. The first-past-the-post electoral system shall apply in the event of an election.

The results of the election will be announced at the AGM on Friday 28 April 2023.

Members elected to Council shall serve for an initial term of three years and may seek re-election for a second term of three years.
