Local committee Chairs
You can reach out to the Chair of your nearest local Area Network. Each of the Chairs acts as a point of contact for local Member enquiries and helps ICAS deliver a calendar of events and opportunities to engage, inspire, inform and connect CAs.
Clive Bellingham (Council Member)
Clive is a Partner at PwC, where his leadership roles take him to all parts of the world. As a member of PwC’s Global Board, Clive contributes to the governance and oversight of a network that covers more than 150 countries. He is part of the global leadership team for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. He is also global relationship partner for a number of multinational clients.
Clive joined PwC in Glasgow in 1984 after qualifying as a CA with Bird Simpson & Co in Dundee. Since then he has worked for PwC in Scotland, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, where Clive has been resident since 1987.
Having benefited from a wide range of influences and experiences during his career, Clive is an advocate of diversity in business. In 2016 he joined the board of Advance, a non-profit association set up by leading Swiss-based companies to increase the representation of women at executive level.
John Gillespie (Geneva Chair, Switzerland)
John Gillespie is a financial services professional with over 35 years' experience, now retired since July 2016.
Educated at Dumfries Academy and the University of Glasgow, graduating as Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc) in 1979. Undertook CA training with French & Cowan, Glasgow, and admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1982.
Following qualification I joined Coopers & Lybrand in Jersey, latterly as Audit Manager, before moving to the S G Warburg Group in 1987 where I undertook a number of Board and senior management positions in client facing, operational, trust and company administration roles latterly with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (Channel Islands) Limited.
In September 2000 moved to Geneva, Switzerland initially with Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) SA, joining Capital International SA also in Geneva in August 2001 where I worked in their Global Portfolio Administration Group.
My final career move was to UBS Switzerland AG, Geneva in April 2006 initially in the financial intermediary business before moving to head up the UK desk within Wealth Management in May 2010 from where I retired as Executive Director and Desk Head in 2016.
Admitted as an Experienced Practitioner to Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in January 2013 and Certified Wealth Management Advisor, October 2013.

Global Accounting Alliance
ICAS is a founding member of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), formed to provide thought leadership on accounting issues, coordinate interaction with regulatory bodies and use the combined knowledge of accountants around the globe in the public interest.
One of the founding objectives of the GAA was to help members access overseas support and value adding services. The GAA Passport Programme enables members working and looking to work in GAA Member Body jurisdictions to obtain access to specific local member support services.
