Channel Islands community Area Network
ICAS has a strong presence in the Channel Islands.
We have a strong presence in the Channel Islands and there are thriving local communities in Guernsey and Jersey. Our Members meet up in person and online, to share information, insights and develop their professional networks.
If you are already working in the Channel Islands, have recently moved there, or are considering a move, then we’d highly recommend you make use of the regional Member communities on CA Connect.
These communities are a great way to network, share and find local news, join discussions and access events in your area:
Local committee Chairs
You can also reach out to the Chair of your nearest local Area Network. Each of the Chairs acts as a point of contact for local Member enquiries and helps ICAS deliver a calendar of events and opportunities to engage, inspire, inform and connect CAs.
Paul Silcock (Jersey Chair)
Roy McGregor (Guernsey Chair)
Roy qualified with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now PwC) in their Glasgow office in 1983 and shortly thereafter transferred with the firm to Hong Kong then subsequently Singapore and Bangkok before leaving the firm to jointly head up Deutsche Morgan Grenfell's corporate advisory business in Thailand.
On returning to the UK after 12 years in Asia, Roy joined Coutts Group in a senior risk role before moving into a business line role to run the UK bank's tax, trust and IFA activities. Leaving Coutts following a restructuring around the RBS acquisition of NatWest, Roy joined Societe General/Hambros as a board director for 4 years. Credit Suisse approached him to take on the COO role in the UK private bank which he held for 2 years prior to moving with them to run their Channel Island franchise from which he retired at the end of 2016.
Throughout his career Roy has focussed on financial services and has worked with large and small financial services groups across the world both as clients and as a senior manager.
Global Accounting Alliance
ICAS is a founding member of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), formed to provide thought leadership on accounting issues, coordinate interaction with regulatory bodies and use the combined knowledge of accountants around the globe in the public interest.
One of the founding objectives of the GAA was to help members access overseas support and value adding services. The GAA Passport Programme enables members working and looking to work in GAA Member Body jurisdictions to obtain access to specific local member support services.
