Graphic showing line charting progress between two points

Follow the progress of our virtual wellbeing journey around the world and find out how far we have left to go.

How far have we travelled together?

6040km - the total distance covered by all six ICAS Strava Clubs up until Sunday 24 January 2021.

How far do we have left to go?

34,035km - the distance remaining for us to get all the way around the world. Together we can do it!

Where are we now?

Map of Europe charting journey's progress

Here are some of the places we've virtually travelled through recently:

» CA House in Edinburgh, Scotland – ICAS HQ and our starting point.

» Woking Golf Club, England – This Top 100 Club hosts the Wood Cup, the prestigious annual golfing competition that’s been pitching ICAS against ICAEW since 1923.

» London, England – Our London Area Network, chaired by Jason Harvie CA, acts as a link between ICAS and over 5900 of our Members living and working in London.

» Brussels, Belgium – Home of Accountancy Europe, the body that unites 51 professional organisations, including ICAS, from 35 countries that represent over one million qualified accountants, auditors and advisors.

» Lyon, France – We checked in on Claire Blackburn CA, the CFO and HR Director at tech firm Wizaplace, who was recently profiled in CA magazine.

» Borgo Sansepolcro, Italy – This Tuscan town was the birthplace of the 15 Century Franciscan friar and mathematician, Luca Pacioli, the originator of double-entry bookkeeping who’s known as the 'Father of Accounting'.

» Zurich, Switzerland – Many ICAS CAs work in key roles for firms in and around Zurich, including Stuart Robertson CA, a Non-Executive Director at KPMG and local ICAS network Chair.

» Munich, Germany – In July the city will host One Young World, a gathering of the brightest young global talent, at which ICAS will be represented by Amjad Hassan CA our One Young CA winner for 2020.

» Berlin, Germany – There are currently 64 ICAS Members living and working in Germany. Did you know that CAs wishing to work in the country can access local support and value-added services via the GAA Passport Programme?

» Kraków, Poland – Birthplace of accountant Itzahk Stern, the bookkeeper and friend to Oskar Schindler who is credited with typing the list of names known as 'Schindler's list'.

» Sofia, Bulgaria – Former ICAS President Mike McKeon CA once served as an advisor to the Bulgarian Prime Minister and was awarded an MBE in 2014 for services to British Business in Bulgaria.
