1 June 2022

Discover more about Finance + Sustainability, a theme for ICAS throughout June as part of our new insight series.

The discussion on sustainability and climate change is one of urgency and unparalleled importance. As communities across the globe continue to experience the effects of the fluctuations of the planet’s climate through droughts, fires and flooding on a worrying scale, the task of combating the negative impact that humans have on the planet has never been more vital.

Finance+ Sustainability – what to expect

Throughout June, ICAS’s Finance+ series will be taking a closer look at the topic of sustainability and examining the ways in which CAs can aid in working towards a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come.

In our Finance+ webinar, Building a sustainable business, Members will have the chance to hear from Portia Hart, Owner of Blue Apple hotels and Founder of Green Apple social enterprise. Portia, who is an enthusiastic advocate for sustainability, shares her journey of setting up a business with a focus on the circular economy, and how CAs can use their financial skills to improve social and environmental outcomes.

Our Members based in London will have a rare opportunity to hear from Kumi Naidoo, one of the world's foremost campaigners in the area of environmentalism and human rights. The former Executive Director of Greenpeace will be sharing his insights on sustainability for ICAS’ London Episode webinar series, with Members having the opportunity to put their questions to Kumi directly. CAs based outside of London will be able to read the highlights of his session in our post-webinar review article which will be available on the ICAS website.
