Why training a CA with ICAS will boost your business

By training an ICAS Chartered Accountant (CA) you’ll add and attract top-level talent and invest in your organisation’s future success.

  • invest in success
  • attract top talent
  • gain an extraordinary accountant
  • add business expertise
  • employer-friendly training solutions
  • fits all sizes and types of organisation

Invest in success

Training a CA is an investment in your organisation’s future success.

In order to grow, your business needs someone with financial and analytical skills, who can evaluate growth methods in a strategic manner.

A CA is someone who can secure capital and construct your business plan with accurate financial forecasting. A CA can help your organisation to reduce its tax burden and its production costs when your existing staff can’t see the wood for the trees.

CAs are one-part business advisor, one-part accountant, and developing them within your team will be an investment in your organisation’s future success.

Plan for the future

Training a CA secures a long-term commitment from a young business talent.

By offering a three-year (graduate) or five-year (school leaver) ICAS CA training agreement you’ll secure a long-term commitment from a bright and dedicated employee who’ll gain a highly valuable business and accounting qualification.

Additionally, employers can take advantage of the strong degree of loyalty demonstrated by CA graduates, who often stay with their training office for years after qualification.

And once qualified, all CAs become part of the ICAS community, a global business network that continually works to keep its members’ professional skills and technical expertise at the cutting edge.

CA – no ordinary accountant

Becoming Chartered takes an accountant to the highest professional level.

A Chartered Accountant can go above and beyond the professional basics, is qualified at the highest level, having undertaken the ICAS programme of rigorous training and examinations in accountancy, business and ethics, and committed to a process of continuous professional development.

Add business expertise

The CA goes beyond accounting to form a broader business qualification.

The ICAS CA syllabus is structured to deliver knowledge and technical expertise in finance and accounting, alongside broader business skills in management, analysis, communication, presentation and ethics.

It enables our members to fully understand accounting concepts, principles and techniques and give professional advice to businesses in real-life situations, from undertaking mergers, to valuing share prices, reducing tax costs and advising on growth.

Attract and recruit talent

Offering CA training will boost your organisation’s recruitment prospects.

By offering the prestigious, globally recognised CA qualification, your organisation will be better able to compete in the recruitment market and attract young talent.

Additionally, through our dedicated support and recruitment resources, and relationships with schools, colleges and the UK’s top 50 universities, we’ll showcase your business and help you identify and recruit the best and brightest.

A training solution that fits your needs

The ICAS CA training process offers employers simplicity and flexibility.

ICAS is both the educator and the examiner for prospective CAs. We design, deliver and examine the full CA qualification, meaning you’ll have a single point of contact throughout the process.

We also provide a flexible, employer-friendly training solution that includes access to online learning, training centres UK-wide, and is designed to maximise trainees’ time in the workplace.

How do I train a CA?

Organisations of all types and sizes can register as an ICAS Authorised Training Office and begin training a CA.

The CA qualification combines professional study with relevant practical experience, which students gain through a training agreement signed with an ICAS Authorised Training office (ATO).

An ATO is an organisation that has been authorised by us in conjunction with providing the CA qualification.

Organisations of all sizes and types – from accountancy practice, to industry and public sector – can gain ATO status. The registration process is free, in fact, all that’s required is a demonstration that your organisation can meet the ICAS training objectives.

Begin the process of boosting your business today by registering your interest in the CA training process.
