The role
Reports to: Head of Corporate Finance
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintaining an up-to-date Capex Tracker, liaising with Group Property & Group Finance teams as required
- Owning the preparation of supporting information for funding requests submitted to shareholders and banks
- Preparing accurate cash flow forecasts
- Preparing monthly bank reporting packs
- Preparing weekly Capex Overview
- Owning the Risk Register to ensure all actions and updates are captured
- Supporting the business with insurance claims, ensuring regular correspondence is maintained with insurance brokers regarding the status of claims
- Desktop research in support of counterparty credit assessments, e.g. new leases
- Delivering ad hoc financial analysis as requested by Head of Corporate Finance from time to time
The Individual
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant by training, highly proactive and keen to develop their experience within a hugely ambitious and scaling organisation. The role will be wide ranging, and remit can be influenced by the candidate’s previous experience and ability.
The company is entrepreneurial, and the candidate will need to be flexible in their approach and able to support the Head of Corporate Finance with a range of activities. The Corporate Finance Manager will need to have strong commercial acumen and be able to identify and support opportunities for the growth of the business.
Cashflow forecasting is a hugely important task for this role, and high levels of accuracy are essential. The appointed candidate will need to be highly competent in this area and able to present accurate financials to stakeholders. A background in capital raising (equity or debt finance) and/or property investment would be highly advantageous, as well as having some exposure to treasury management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ICAS / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with appropriate post-qualification experience
- Corporate finance / treasury experience, particularly in capital raising
- Highly proficient in financial modelling / financial planning & analysis
- Cash flow forecasting / liquidity management experience
- Strong analytical skills, very good Excel ability
- Significant technical skills across a broad range of financial disciplines, including commercial finance, financial planning & forecasting
- Capital projects experience
- Experience working in a private equity / investment or property-related business would be advantageous
- Commercial mindset, able to support growth activities
