Voting results from the 2026 ICAS SGM and AGM

ICAS

The 2026 ICAS SGM and AGM were held in Edinburgh and online on 24 April. The ICAS Office Bearers for 2026/27 and the results of the elections to Council were both confirmed during the meeting.

During the meeting members also voted on a range of separate SGM and AGM resolutions.  

ICAS Office Bearers for 2026/27 confirmed  

The new Office Bearer appointments for 2026/27 were confirmed during the meeting as follows:  

  • President – David Cruickshank CA.

  • Deputy President – Jonny Jacobs CA MBE.

  • Vice President – Professor Elizabeth Gammie CA .

David Cruickshank CA takes over as President from Karen Scholes CA and will serve a year in office.  

We would like to thank Karen Scholes CA for the hugely positive contribution she made to ICAS during her year in office.  

ICAS Council election results  

The results of the elections to ICAS Council were also announced. Congratulations to the successful candidates and thanks to all members who took part and to everyone who got involved, considered their choices and cast their votes.  

Open Seat positions  

The one ICAS Council Open Seat position received three nominations and an election was held. The successful candidate was:  

  •  Stuart McCallum CA. 

The total number of votes cast and the full results of the voting are as follows:  

  • The number of votes cast in favour of Stuart McCallum CA was 445. 

  • The number of votes cast in favour of Jonny Mills CA was 287. 

  • The number of votes cast in favour of Tracy Thorius CA was 238. 

Scotland East Electoral Area  

The one Scotland East Electoral Area position received two nominations and an election was held.  The successful candidate was: 

  • Shona Campbell CA. 

 The total number of votes cast and the full results of the voting are as follows:  

  • The number of votes cast in favour of Shona Campbell CA was 270. 

  • The number of votes cast in favour of Tony Cervi was 72.  

Uncontested seats  

The following positions that were open to nominations were not contested, meaning that the candidates listed below were appointed with effect from the AGM. 

Scotland North Electoral Area  

Lucas Alexander-Crichton CA was the only candidate and has been elected unopposed.  

England, Wales and Northern Ireland  

David Aylward CA and Reysha Shah CA were the only candidates who submitted nominations for the two vacant seats and have been elected unopposed.  

AGM resolution voting results  

The proxy voting and in-person voting results on each Resolution were also announced and all were carried. The results were as follows. 

Resolution 1 

Receive and approve the 2025 Annual Report and Consolidated Financial Statements.  

The full results of the voting were:  

  • For -  702

  • Against -  10

  • Abstain -  21

Resolution 2 

To approve the re-appointment of BDO LLP as ICAS Auditor. 

The full results of the voting were:  

  • For -  666

  • Against -  50

  • Abstain -  30

SGM resolution voting results  

The proxy voting and in-person voting results on each Resolution were also announced and all were carried. The results were as follows. 

Resolution 1 

To approve amendments to the ICAS Rules relating to removal from membership. 

The full results of the voting were:  

  • For -  709

  • Against -  55

  • Abstain - 23

Resolution 2 

That Council be empowered to accept any alteration or addition to Resolution 1 which may be required by His Majesty’s Privy Council as a condition precedent to the allowance of the amendments provided for in Resolution 1. 

  • For -  683

  • Against -  45

  • Abstain - 24
