Student Assistance Programme

The ICAS Student Assistance Programme is for all CA Students and provided by Health Assured – the UK and Ireland’s leading wellbeing provider.

What is the Student Assistance Programme?

A suite of wellbeing services offering support to CA Students. This is a confidential service designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home life, work life, health and general wellbeing.

The services can help to support you with a wide range of issues such as coping with exam pressure, managing working and studying, study patterns, legal issues or managing change.

This service forms part of the ICAS Mental Fitness Strategy, which launched in May 2021. The project is a three-year plan which aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental ill health in business, provide access to resources and see ICAS become a leading voice for the promotion of mental fitness.

This ten minute video explains the Student Assistance Programme in more detail.

Key facts

Who can use the service?

The service is available to all CA Students.

When should I contact Health Assured?

The Student Assistance Programme is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year – so help is always available, at a time that suits you.

What will happen when I call the helpline?

A qualified counsellor or advisor will answer. They’ll ask the name of your institution, and you simply quote ‘ICAS Students’ and provide some contact details to get you set up on the system. Then you will answer some questions about what your call relates to in order to get you the right support.

Why are my details taken?

Counsellors/advisors ask for a few details such as name, address, contact number and date of birth. This allows Health Assured to provide ongoing support if you need or want it, so you receive consistency and the best service. They will also ask if it’s okay to leave a voicemail or send you an SMS. You are allowed to say to no to these.

Will Health Assured contact ICAS or my Firm?

The service offered by Health Assured is confidential and your data will not be shared with ICAS or your Firm.
