We’re joined by Ian Reid CBE CA, Vice-Chair of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, for an exclusive fireside chat with ICAS CEO, Gail Boag.
Just two weeks after the Commonwealth Games conclude, Ian will offer a behind-the-scenes perspective on the planning and delivery of the Games. He’ll discuss the strategic and financial decisions involved in bringing Glasgow 2026 to life, as well as how his experience as a CA has influenced not just this project, but his career to date.

- Gail BoagCEO, ICAS Gail began her role as ICAS CEO on 1 January 2026 having previously held the role of Executive Director of Learning since 2022. Previously, Gail was the Dean of The Business School at Edinburgh Napier University, one of the biggest Business Schools in Scotland with a reputation for programmes that are closely connected to industry. She has has spent the majority of her career working with a diverse mix of organisations, through a variety of leadership roles in commercial management, business development, strategic contract delivery and business transformation.

Ian Reid CBE CAVice-Chair, Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth GamesIan Reid CBE CA is a Chartered Accountant who began his career in professional services with French Duncan, PwC and EY before moving into senior roles in housing and major events, most notably serving as CFO for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and CEO of Birmingham 2022, and is now Vice-Chair of Glasgow 2026, combining his financial expertise with leadership of large-scale, high-profile international sporting events.
