CCAB launches AI Hub to support ethical AI use
The Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB), which includes ICAS, has launched a new hub to help accountants understand and use AI responsibly.
AI brings opportunities, but it also raises important questions about ethics and responsibility. The new CCAB AI Hub brings together practical resources to help accountants think through these issues and apply ethical principles when using AI.
The hub includes a ‘Draft CCAB Statement to the Accountancy Profession on the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence’ and six draft AI and Ethics case studies, which show how accountants can respond to AI-related dilemmas using the Codes of Ethics followed by CCAB member bodies. These resources - which concern the ethical use of AI - were themselves created with support from AI.
The CCAB is inviting feedback from the profession, with two short surveys after each document. Responses will help shape further discussion at the CCAB Ethics Group’s online event on 25 September 2026. We encourage members to get involved.
CCAB podcasts
The CCAB has also published podcasts exploring the ethical use of AI by professional accountants and business leaders.
All of the above CCAB resources could form part of your required ethics Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the year.
