Executive Director of Regulation

Read our latest anti-money laundering (AML) supervision report, covering our progress and achievements between April 2025 and April 2026. It also outlines our plans for the future.

The Money Laundering Regulations 2017 require ICAS and the other professional body supervisors to publish a report every year, detailing how we carry out our AML supervisory functions.

Our report covers the 12-month period from April 2025 to April 2026. It gives members, firms and other interested parties a better understanding of the work ICAS carries out as an AML supervisor.

The report includes:

  • Details of our approach to AML supervision.
  • Results of monitoring visits during the relevant period.
  • Early findings from thematic reviews.
  • Common findings, with case studies demonstrating best practice.
  • Examples of enforcement and follow-up actions.
  • Information on AML support for supervised firms.

The Government has decided to transfer supervisory responsibilities for AML to the Financial Conduct Authority. This means ICAS’ role in this area will become more limited once the new supervisory model takes effect.

Until then, AML will continue to be a regulatory priority for ICAS. Our experienced teams will continue high-quality supervisory work across areas such as licensing, monitoring and enforcement, as well as offering valued support to firms.
