In 2014, ICAS introduced a new mandatory requirement to attend the Practice Management Course once in every five years.  Time is running out on the first cycle, so if you haven’t yet attended, save the date now.  If you attended in 2014 or 2015, why not go again?  The course is evolving and will keep you completely up to date.

Following on from the high level view of the annual Practitioner Conference, the mandatory course will drill down into some detailed and practical applications relevant to the modern practice.  The course will be streamed to suit both new practitioners and more established practice owners.

Stream 1 (AM)

This stream is suitable for those who have recently obtained a practising certificate or those contemplating going into practice.  It will cover:

  • ICAS Practice Support Services;
  • The non-negotiables of ethics, anti-money laundering etc.;
  • Managing the business;
  • Marketing;
  • Disaster recovery; and
  • Case studies.

Stream 2 (PM)

For the more experienced practitioner, the course will have a ‘today and tomorrow’ theme, looking at current issues in a number of key areas and, bearing in mind the impact of all things digital on the practice, will cover:

  • Implementing a digital strategy
  • Data management and compliance;
  • Client relationships;
  • Business development; and
  • Growing and nurturing talent.
