Megan Auld CA trained through the graduate scheme at EY, where she works as a tax advisor. She shares what she enjoyed most about her ICAS journey and how the CA qualification has opened up opportunities for her future.
What did you enjoy most about your ICAS journey?
One thing I never expected but absolutely loved was the learning itself. Seeing what I was learning in my studies come to life in my day-to-day job was so rewarding.
It made me feel like I was actually making an impact rather than just completing academic exercises.
How has the CA qualification shaped your career?
It's given me a really wide-ranging financial background and expanded my understanding of how the world works from a financial and accounting perspective.
I can bring that knowledge not only to my day job but to other parts of my life too.
What advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a CA?
Ask for help from your peers, ICAS and your employer. Make sure you get involved in the community that's there to support you.
