I'm Chloe Hunter. I'm an RGU Graduate Apprentice in Accounting at Hall Morrice.
Chloe chose the RGU Graduate Apprenticeship route, allowing her to gain practical experience while studying towards the CA qualification.
What made you choose the RGU Graduate Apprenticeship?
The thing that drove me towards the Graduate Apprenticeship route was being able to apply what I was learning. I find it much easier to understand something by practising it every day and putting it to work.
It's also a nice bonus that you get paid while you're studying at university.
How have you developed since starting your apprenticeship?
I've definitely seen a lot of progression in my responsibilities and the tasks I get asked to do.
I now have my own VAT clients and process their VAT returns quarterly, and I get involved in different audits. When I started, I was doing basic accounts preparation, so I can really see how much I've developed.
What support have you received throughout your journey?
I get a lot of support from everyone within the company. I have a mentor who's really helpful with my learning at RGU and making sure I'm on top of my studies.
Everyone at the firm is happy to answer questions, and RGU is really supportive too. You also get to know other students through workshops and weekly calls, which gives you another source of support and networking.
