HMRC have released a notification regarding agent codes for PAYE matters.

HMRC released a notification yesterday to inform agents that to obtain an ‘Agent Code’ under the ‘PAYE for Employers’ service during the summer months, agents will have to use a manual process until around Autumn 2017 while the online system is being upgraded.

HMRC is asking for agents and employers to be patient whilst this essential upgrading programme is implemented. A manual process by which an agent can activate a registration can be found on the GOV.UK page. As soon as HMRC becomes aware of the date for finalising the project, they will publish it.
