Northern Ireland charity law

The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (the 2008 Act) received Royal Assent in September 2008. Many of the provisions of the 2008 Act require secondary legislation and as such the legislation will be introduced in stages.

The 2008 Act establishes the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland as the regulator of charities in Northern Ireland.
