What do we know about services outsourcing?

This review of existing outsourcing literature was undertaken as part of the above research project. The review provides a useful overview of services outsourcing. It describes the types of services outsourcing arrangements available, discusses the drivers of the services outsourcing phenomenon, explains how services outsourcing may be used to improve organisational performance, considers the different types of outsourcing relationships, investigates how business improvement techniques can be used in services outsourcing and identifies areas for further academic research. The report concludes with implications from both a client and vendor perspective.
