ICAS joins Scottish business debate

ICAS tax expert Anne-Marie Roberts joined representatives from other leading organisations at the Scottish Parliament to discuss issues affecting business recently.

The Business in Parliament Conference is an annual event hosted by the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government, and aims to engage Scottish business in discussions on how to encourage sustainable growth.

Anne-Marie, who is ICAS Head of Taxation, Scottish Taxes and Indirect Taxes, spoke at a session on “Business essentials – tackling the practical issues which can help or hinder business growth”.

She contributed to discussions on tax and regulations - and their impact on SMEs. Anne-Marie talked about the UK tax system within a global context and highlighted the enhanced tax reliefs available to the sector.  Friday’s session also covered issues related to devolution and the introduction of Scottish Taxes.
