ICAS corporate plan
Where do I find info on the corporate plan?
Our new corporate plan is available on our website. You can find it in About us
What is the timeline for delivering the plan?
Our new corporate plan runs from 2019 to 2020.
What are the new strategic goals?
These are the goals for growth we’ve set ourselves for our strategic work in 2019–2020:
- grow reinvestment
- grow income
- grow the voice
- grow member satisfaction
- grow membership
We’re undertaking initiatives that will deliver on these ambitions and serve our purpose to Learn, Grow and Advance Together.
These activities will allow us to make more informed business decisions, to become more competitive and influential, and to provide our members with the consistently excellent experience they expect and deserve.
- We’re speaking up, providing a ‘big voice’ for accountancy and strengthening public trust in the profession in the UK and internationally.
- We’re providing the connections and help our members need to succeed.
- We’re innovating for the future.
- We’re a world-leading professional body, delivering consistently excellent services for our members.
What changes have ICAS made as part of the corporate plan?
Our drive and vision to be recognised and respected as a world leader in the future of finance and placing us at the forefront of the accountancy profession.
We’ve taken an in-depth look at who we are and what we do, providing a renewed focus to our current work and future direction.
This led us to make a series of important changes, including the completion of a two-year digital transformation programme, streamlining the organisation and reinvigorating our leadership team.
We’ve also refreshed our brand and website, and are launching a new app and CA Connect – a community platform connecting members.
Why have you refreshed the brand?
We are refreshing our brand to create a unified look and clear tone of voice for ICAS which positively strengthens our image in the minds of our customers.
Creating a clean, consistent and contemporary look and feel will help us drive new business, so the refresh is central to delivering our five strategic objectives for growth.
Why have you updated the website?
We have listened to our members and students and combined their feedback with insights from Google analytics to shape our website strategy.
Our members have told us that while there’s a lot of good, and useful, content on the website it was hard to navigate and find the content they needed.
We therefore worked to identify the issues they had with our website and restructure to ensure it was fit for purpose and become a key source of information for our members and students.
What has been changed?
- Refreshed design for the homepage and category landing pages
- New categories and sub-categories
- Improvements to the structure and functionality of the website and our search system
- Easy to find log-in button
- Easy to find useful links
- Content refresh for key user journeys
Why are you releasing content in phases and when will more content be added?
We had more than 6000 pages on our website and had to prioritise which content to migrate over. We have worked with all departments in ICAS to identify which content were a priority to migrate in phase 1, which content should be migrated in phase 2 and 3.
We’ve also identified content that can be archived. We will be migrating further content over the next few months.
What do I do if I can’t find the content I am looking for?
If can't find the content you're looking for, please contact us on here and we will be able to help you find what you need
Why have you launched the website before it’s complete?
Phase one of the project is almost complete and by releasing it now it gives us the opportunity to do live testing and improving the website on a running basis as and when needed.
It also gives us an opportunity to get feedback from our members, students and stakeholders and therefore ensure the website works for them.

You'll find a link to your profile in the top right hand corner. There is a drop down menu marked as log in before you log in. Once you've logged in you'll find it under your name in the top right hand corner.

When will the app be released?
The app will be released in the next few weeks. We will send updates to our members once it’s live, so keep an eye out for an email or updates on our digital channels.
What is the ICAS app?
The ICAS app is a single access point for all continuing professional development and learning material that ICAS produces and curates.
- A feed of articles and information produced and hand-picked to meet the learning and development needs of CAs
- Access to our professional development materials including the CA qualification course materials
- Access to our events platform: CA Connect
- Access to our community platform: CA Connect
- Ability to save activity to a learning log - this is to assist with CPD reporting, and for offline viewing
How do I access the app?
On your mobile browser head to https://app.icas.com. Select ‘Login’ and you’ll be prompted for your ICAS login details.
How do I install the app?
Once you log in you’ll be asked whether you’d like to save to your home screen (Android) or see instructions on how to save to your home screen (iOS)
Who can access the app?
The app is open to ICAS members and student members only
What does the app do?
The app is a central resource for all ICAS learning material. As well as viewing all ICAS learning material in one place you can add anything you view to your own personal learning log. Anything on your learning log becomes viewable offline, and this list can be used to help you complete your CPD record.
Does this learning log replace my CPD record?
No, currently the learning log is completely separate from your CPD record – we hope, however, that it will be useful in completing your record
What is CA Connect?
CA Connect is a community platform which enables our members and student members to engage with each other to share news, discuss hot topics, form special interest groups and network. It’s also the platform members, student members and non-members will use for booking onto ICAS events.
Do I have to create a profile to register for events?
No you can register for events without creating a profile. However we would recommend that you create a profile so that you don't miss out on all the great features that will be available on CA Connect in a few weeks, including the chance to connect with members all over the world.
I'm logged in. Where do I find events?
On desktop and laptop computers you can find all ICAS events by selecting Events and then List in the toolbar at the top of your window. On phones and mobile devices Events is within the menu found in the top right hand corner.
Can only members access CA Connect?
External stakeholders will be able to access and register for events. However, only our members will be able to access the full range of features on CA Connect

Go to https://caconnect.icas.com and use your icas.com login details to access the platform. From here you can access the community features as well as book member tickets for events.
I’m not a member, how do I book a place on an ICAS event?
Head to icas.com and select 'What’s on'. You’ll be taken to the public area of CA Connect which allows you to book onto events.
How do I create my profile?
When you log in for the first time you’ll be asked to provide some details about your location, interests and current role. You can add to your profile by selecting “My Profile” then the edit button (which is in the top right-hand corner and has a pencil icon on it).
Are there any rules or guidelines I need to follow?
I’ve seen a post or comment which doesn’t adhere to the guidelines. What should I do?
If you see something which is inappropriate or doesn’t follow the guidelines please use the 'Flag as inappropriate' button. It will then be highlighted to ICAS staff to investigate further.

As well as simply not providing information you don’t want to share, any of the information you do provide can be hidden from other users. Select 'Settings' from the menu then 'Privacy' to set the information that will be visible.
Will anything I post be publicly available?
Anything you post will only be visible to other members, student members and ICAS staff using the platform. Members of the public cannot view your profile or your posts, and these won’t appear in icas.com search results or search engine results (e.g. Google, Bing).
Will changes I make to my CA Connect profile be reflected on my membership record?
Currently your CA Connect profile is completely separate from your membership record, so changes you make to CA Connect won’t be reflected in your membership record and vice-versa. If, for example, your contact details change please update both your CA Connect profile and membership record at https://my.icas.com.
Is the platform designed to support mentoring?
Yes. When you first log in to the platform you’ll be asked if you’d be interested in mentoring other CAs. If yes, this will be visible to other CAs who might be looking for a mentor and can contact you to discuss further. The 'Resources' section on the platform contains information useful to both mentors and mentees to help you maximise benefit from the process.
I’m interested in forming a community of CAs on the platform. Can I do that?
Yes, please contact our team and we’ll be in touch with more details
I’m interested in partnerships or sponsoring opportunities on the platform
