Cultivating Financial Leaders

Programme overview

Gaining enhanced technical skills and being able to communicate financial reporting information effectively enhances your ability to move up the career ladder in your organisation or supports your next career move.

This brand new, specially developed programme meets this need and will fast track your path to becoming a future finance leader. It enables you to tailor the programme to fit your specific current or aspirational financial reporting regime (FRS or IFRS) whilst ensuring you upskill in integrated reporting and develop your financial reporting communication skills.
Participants enrol in one of three electives. Each stream covers a different financial reporting framework in depth.

Who is it for?

The Diploma in Excellence in Financial Reporting is designed for qualified accountants who aspire to develop their career and who are aiming to improve their technical abilities while enhancing their communication skills.

Why should you study this programme?

The Diploma in Excellence in Financial Reporting has been developed based on research of the key skills that have been identified as requirements for those working in financial reporting and those who wish to develop their career further. You will develop specialised financial reporting competencies in your chosen financial reporting standards, as well as increasing your understanding of integrated reporting and communication skills, helping you work with and guide the key people in and outside your organisation. These will empower you on your personal journey to understand and best utilise your financial reporting expertise.

Content overview

Across the six modules, this programme combines theory, as well as significant focus on practical case studies to boost your understanding of your selected financial reporting standards. The programme also covers integrated reporting focusing on real-life examples. You will also learn the vital practical skills around communicating both in written format and in person to boards, your peers, teams and superiors. Entry requirements

This programme has been designed to meet the needs of finance professionals and is open to:

Qualified accountants, including members of Chartered Accountants Ireland, ICAS and other recognised professional bodies, holders of a degree at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent qualification and applicants with relevant experience in finance, business or another field.

Applicants other than members of Chartered Accountants Ireland must provide details showing how their experience or qualifications are relevant, or evidence of membership of their relevant professional body.

Timing

The Diploma in Excellence in Financial Reporting runs via distance learning. The above brochure details the module topics and dates of delivery for each.

Electives

All participants must take modules one and two as core modules, and then will select their elective of either FRS or IFRS.
