Managing the stresses of work, life and study
International Stress Awareness Week (7-11 November 2022) is an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact that excessive stress can have on our mental health and highlight the things we can do to manage our stress levels.
To mark International Stress Awareness Week, we wanted to share some of the resources on offer to you as CA Students, to help support you through challenges big and small as you juggle the priorities of home, work and study.
The Student Assistance Programme
ICAS launched the Student Assistance Programme, through our partners Health Assured, as part of the ICAS Mental Fitness Strategy in May 2021. The Student Assistance Programme is a free, confidential suite of services in place to support your mental health and wellbeing and most importantly, you can self-refer yourself to these services.
There are many factors that can impact your mental health besides your studies, including financial worries, legal concerns and family complications. The Student Assistance Programme can offer emotional support and practical advice on a range of issues. You can find out exactly what support is available on icas.com.
Through our Student Assistance Programme partner, Health Assured, you can access the following support and resources:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) deals with mental health problems more positively by breaking down thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Online CBT through the Student Assistance Programme is available 24/7 365 days a year, which means that the services are available at a time that suits you and from the comfort of your own home. Contact the helpline to access this service.
The wellbeing portal offers a collection of wellbeing programmes to support you on your way to a healthier lifestyle. The articles and self-help guides can support you on a range of health and wellbeing issues.
To access the wellbeing portal, you will need to log in using the ICAS credentials.
