About the opportunity
The National Trust for Scotland is looking for a new Trustee to join our Board. Our Trustees are crucial to the work of the Trust and collectively, their backgrounds, skills and experience reflect the diversity of the organisation’s activities.
This year, we are looking for candidates with experience in finance, governance, and risk management, who can join our other Trustees in demonstrating a commitment to the Trust and our work.
You would be joining the Trust at an important time, as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic and look to our future in the development of our new ten-year strategy. As protector of some of Scotland’s finest landscapes, we also have a crucial role in tackling climate change.
About the person
Essential Qualities
- A passion for the cause of the Trust
- High level leadership experience (including leadership of people and responsibility for safety)
- Demonstrable experience in one of the Essential Skills pre-determined by the Board of Trustees for any particular election
Specific Skills and Experience
A candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can fulfill one of the following skills or experiences categories:
- Gardens and horticulture
- Finance, governance, and risk management
