ICAS President

Ken is Chair of onshore energy company Aurora Petroleum and ICAS President 2016, having served for a number of years on the Council of ICAS and as Vice-President and Deputy President.

Ken qualified as a CA with Thomson McLintock in Aberdeen in 1978, and as a solicitor in 1985. He worked for venture capitalists 3i before becoming a partner in the Aberdeen law firm, Ledingham Chalmers.

Ken worked for service company Atlantic Power as Group Company Secretary and was a founder of North Sea Operator Tuscan Energy. He joined Energy Development Partners Limited, the manager of a significant oil and gas investment fund, as Finance Director in 2005, and worked there until mid-2010, before helping to establish Aurora.

Anton Colella

Anton Colella became Chief Executive of ICAS in October 2006.

Previously he was the Chief Executive of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), from December 2003 to October 2006, following a period as Director of Qualifications.

He was elected Chair of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) in November 2011. The GAA has around one million members in 165 countries, and represents a collection of leading institutes from around the world. Anton became an Honorary Professor of Education at the University of Glasgow in 2012 and has been a member of the University’s Adam Smith Business School Advisory Board since 2011.  He received an honorary Doctorate from BPP University in 2014.

Anton is a Trustee of Columba 1400, an award winning social enterprise and charity to help young people realise their potential, a Trustee of the Scottish International Education Trust (SIET) which offers financial assistance to individuals for further education and training and is Chairman of the Executive Board of the Scottish Catholic Education Service.

A graduate of the University of Stirling, Anton’s career began as a teacher of Religious Education. Before joining the SQA he was Depute Head Teacher at St Margaret Mary’s Secondary School in Glasgow.
