Professional Development Brochure
Professional Development with ICAS enables you to attain and maintain the professional competence necessary to provide high-quality services to clients, employers and other stakeholders and thereby strengthen public trust in the profession and in you as a CA.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an investment that you make in yourself. It’s about keeping your skills and knowledge up-to-date and preparing you for ever-changing responsibilities. It’s a way of planning your development that links learning directly to your current or future role.
ICAS offers high quality learning and leadership development solutions for all career stages, across a wide range of sectors.
Our extensive portfolio of CPD courses are usually offered via a range of flexible delivery options, including face-to-face courses, in-house training, online learning or a blended approach. In response to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to make substantial changes to our CPD offering and have removed our existing Professional Development member brochure as the information is no longer current. We are however, continuing to offer a full range of virtual Online Classroom Live programmes and self-paced online courses for both members and firms and more information on our courses can be found through the directory below.
In addition to our paid-for online course programmes, we do also provide a wider range of free CPD products and services for members to support you with your learning and development goals and career progression. Find out more in the professional development section of our website below.

Over the coming months our CPD offering will continue to develop and evolve to meet the challenges of the future. We hope to always be the trusted constant to help make your professional development count throughout the various stages of your career”
Reminder of your CPD requirements as a CA
As a member of ICAS, it is a requirement under subsection 113 of the ICAS Code of Ethics to maintain your professional competence. This is for the purposes of integrity, quality and protecting you as an individual and the wider profession.
The ICAS CPD model places the onus on each member to decide what their professional development needs are and how to address them through a variety of CPD activities. Members are asked to focus on the outcome of CPD activities, as opposed to the time spent on them. We do not require you to do a set number of hours, points or credits but we do expect all members to undertake a breadth of CPD activities that are relevant to your role and career stage. When you have undertaken a particular CPD activity, you must reflect on the learning outcome of the activity, decide if it has had an impact on your skill or knowledge levels and then provide a brief statement to this effect by recording your CPD.
