Zambian institute joins Chartered Accountants Worldwide
The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) has become the third Associate Member to join Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW).
Launched in 2013, CAW has since set a standard of excellence and enhanced the international relationship for over 600,000 chartered accountants across the globe.
With this announcement, ZiCA has joined an international group of three institutes who have been awarded Associate Member status in recognition of their commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. They will have the opportunity to contribute to the further development of the Chartered Accountant profession and promote exciting networking opportunities for its members.
Wesley M Beene, President of ZiCA, said: “Working together with other like-minded organisations will add value to the quality of our work. It will also give our members international recognition and access to opportunities and services being offered by Chartered Accountants Worldwide.
"It is a historic moment to us as it demonstrates our commitment to making our qualification to be among the best in the world. We are delighted to be the second Institute in Africa to be part of this premium group, with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants being one of the founding members.”
During its 33 years of existence, ZICA, which currently has 5,858 members, achieved an international reputation for its high quality standards of accountancy education and practice, including a robust regime of continuous professional development and practice monitoring.
Pat Costello, Chairman of Chartered Accountants Worldwide, commented: “We are delighted ZICA has joined the Chartered Accountants Worldwide family. Every member brings something new to the table and we look forward to benefiting from ZICA’s insights and ideas.
"We are also glad to expand our network and support even more members around the world.”
ICAS is one of the five founding members of CAW, a group that also recently expanded to include the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) as Associate Members.
