The top 20 companies to work for
PwC, Deloitte and KPMG are among the UK's most desirable places to work, according to research from professional social networking site LinkedIn.
The 'Where the UK wants to work now' report uses data gathered from LinkedIn's 23 million UK users on job applications, engagement levels and employee retention to determine the most popular companies in the country.
Retailers dominate the 2017 list with the John Lewis Partnership, owners of John Lewis and Waitrose, who held on to their top spot for two years running. They are joined in the top 10 by online retailer ASOS, Topshop owner Arcadia, iconic luxury brand Harrods and supermarket Sainsbury's.
PwC ranks the highest of the Big Four in 11th place, highly thought due to their diversity work and future planning. Deloitte is praised for its apprenticeship opportunities and high-quality research, while KPMG is regarded as having a proactive approach to Brexit.
Technology companies have dipped slightly in popularity; Google, for example, has moved down six places in the last year.
Themes in employee satisfaction include the promotion of workplace gender equality, the availability of sabbaticals and career breaks, and professional development opportunities.
