Glasgow Rangers FC has appointed Stewart Robertson CA as Managing Director as part of the latest shake-up at the club.

ICAS member Stewart Robertson has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Rangers FC.

Stewart who trained with Ernst & Young and qualified as an ICAS member in 1990, will assume control of the day-to-day affairs as current Chairman Dave King looks to restore Rangers' fortunes and rebalance their financial affairs.

An investment manager by trade, Stewart had been assisting Rangers in their financial department on a consultancy basis since Mr King secured boardroom control in March.

The club had been operating without a senior executive since previous CEO Derek Llambias left earlier this year.

Career History

A graduate of Glasgow University, Stewart previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers before becoming a director of Hamilton Portfolio, the investment company owned by former Motherwell chairman John Boyle.

After also serving on the Fir Park board during Mr Boyle's regime, Stewart stepped down in January following Les Hutchison's takeover of Motherwell. He has also held the role of Scottish Premier League director on two separate occasions since becoming involved in football in 2002.
