Martin Gilbert CA joins James Murdoch in leading Sky Board
Satellite TV operator Sky has announced the return of James Murdoch as chair of the board for a second spell and the appointment of Martin Gilbert CA as deputy chair.

James Murdoch, the son of Sky founder Rupert, resigned as chair four years ago. He replaces Nick Ferguson, who is stepping down.
Martin Gilbert CA is the co-founder and CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management and prior to his appointment as deputy chair he has been senior independent non-executive director on the Sky Board and chair of the audit committee.
Martin Gilbert said; “I would like to give the warmest thanks to Nick for the major contribution he has made to Sky. He has provided valuable leadership as chairman and played a significant part in the company’s progress over many years.
“I am very pleased that James has agreed to succeed Nick. Having seen first-hand James's contribution to and passion for Sky, the board feels he is uniquely qualified to become chairman.”
