Keeping your business secure roadshows

Cyber Security

13 September 2016

Learn how to beat the scammers at this free ICAS event for members and your clients.

ICAS, in association with Royal Bank of Scotland, is running a series of free events in Scotland, helping you and your clients to understand the latest scams and identify how to stop cyber-attacks.

Cyber scammers are targeting your business – and your clients’ businesses. The latest scam is ‘Dear CEO’ (bogus boss) fraud which continues to be conducted against firms across Scotland. According to the UK’s National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, UK firms have lost £32m to this fraud when criminals impersonate the emails of CEOs and FDs to get staff to pay them money.  Hear about the Scottish based firm that lost £18.5m in a single fraud attack.

This presentation has been described by one CA as: “An eye opener. A hugely valuable and interesting presentation which has changed the way I view cybercrime.”

During the events, the RBS Security team and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) will provide an overview of current threats, what a security incident or cyber-attack might mean for your business and more importantly the steps that you can take to help protect yourself from an attack.

We’ll also cover the key outputs from the recent ICAS SME survey and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions of senior RBS and ICAS leaders. There will be ample opportunity for networking with fellow CAs.
