Tributes are paid to the CAs who have recently passed away.

James Macdonald Beaumont CA

James Macdonald Beaumont CA, who lived in Sarisbury Green, Southampton, passed away peacefully on 11 December 2014, at home. He was born on 22 November 1938 and admitted to membership
on 27 November 1961. Prior to retirement, he practised as a consultant. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, sadly missed.

James Ewing Forbes CA

James Ewing Forbes CA, who lived in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, died on 13 June 2015 aged 80. He was born on 12 May 1935 and admitted to membership on 25 March 1959. Prior to retirement,
Mr Forbes was finance director at Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd.

James Brian Harper CA

James Brian Harper CA, who lived in Switzerland, died on 5 April 2014 aged 74. He was born on 28 March 1940 and admitted to membership on 23 November 1962. Prior to retirement, Mr Harper was an accountant at UBS.

Eric Langlands CA

The death has been announced of Eric Langlands CA, who lived in St Francis Bay, South Africa. He was born on 6 June 1941 and admitted to membership on 20 November 1964. Prior to retirement, Mr Langlands was executive director of financial services at SAGE Group Ltd.

Norman Benjamin Pollock CA

The death has been announced of Norman Benjamin Pollock CA, who lived in Coventry. He was born on 2 February 1921 and admitted to membership on 31 March 1948. Prior to retirement, Mr Pollock was partner at Baverstock Pollock & Co.

John David Rasberry CA

John David Rasberry CA, who lived in Falkirk, died on 18 March 2015 aged 75. He was born on 20 October 1939 and admitted to membership on 23 November 1962. Prior to retirement, Mr Rasberry was partnership secretary at D M Hall & Son.

John Bruce Trevor Williams CA MBE

John Bruce Trevor Williams CA MBE, who lived in Tadworth Surrey, died on 29 March 2015 aged 93. He was born on 19 December 1921 and admitted to membership on 22 September 1948. Prior to retirement, Mr Williams was controller at the Church of England Children's Society.

Thomas Shaw Lindsay Reid CA

Tributes have been paid to Thomas Shaw Lindsay Reid CA, who lived in Bothwell and passed away at Hairmyres Hospital on 20 July 2015 aged 89.

Born on 16 November 1925 in Wishaw, Mr Reid attended Uddingston Grammar School and Hamilton Academy. During the Second World War he served as sub-lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR), Fleet Air Arm.

He was admitted to ICAS membership on 30 March 1951, and from 1955 to 1971 he worked for G Brazil & Co Ltd, Amersham. Following a year contracted to a gold mining company in Sierra Leone, Mr Reid joined his brothers Joss and James at Shirlaw Allan and Co Ltd (Auctioneers) of Hamilton in 1972. He was latterly company secretary until his retirement in 1990. He was also joint owner of The Royal Marine Hotel near Dunoon.

A keen sportsman, Mr Reid regularly attended matches at Uddingston Cricket Club and served as honorary treasurer and honorary vice-president.

His wife, Rita, to whom he was married since 1953 predeceased him in 2010. He was a much-loved father to James, Nicholas and Helen.
