The best paying jobs in Australia have been announced, with ‘ICT architects’ taking home the highest average salary.

A recent report by jobs website SEEK found that the top five best-paying jobs in the country pay out salaries of over $100,000.

The list includes positions in the ICT, engineering and mining sectors, which SEEK says “reflects the skills that are in demand” in today’s Australian job market.

ICT architects make the top of the list with an average salary of $134,707 with year on year (YoY) growth expected to remain at a steady 2% through 2017.

Managers working in the engineering sector are a close second with an average pay packet of $133,530 and an expected YoY growth of 3%.

Sarah Macartney, SEEK Spokesperson, said: “To put these highest paying jobs into perspective, currently on SEEK the average advertised salary across all jobs is $81,235, which is up 1.8 per cent when compared to the same time last year.

“It's no surprise that the ICT Architect job title enjoyed the overall highest advertised salary on SEEK. ICT Architects play a fundamental role in the creation and design of new technology to keep Australian's digitally connected and competitive, and this need is ever increasing.

“It's also interesting that management roles across Engineering, Mining, Resources & Energy and ICT industries are among the top five highest paying jobs advertised on SEEK. These roles directly support the growth and prosperity of our nation and in return these professionals are being highly remunerated to manage the build teams that can deliver on the needs of businesses.”
