The search is almost over for our new leading 35 CAs under 35 and ICAS One Young CA 2017, held in association with Investec Click & Invest.

Entries for our competition to find the best young members of ICAS close on Friday 12 May. Building on the success of 2016, which saw a record number of nominations from around the world, the competition has evolved to match the ambitions and priorities of our membership.

Expert judges with a wealth of experience in a variety of different sectors will single out the most promising and inspiring young CAs in the following categories:

  • Entrepreneurship: For CAs who can demonstrate a knack for entrepreneurial initiative and have used their skills to help shape original ideas into a successful reality.
  • Innovation & Technology: For CAs who are known for implementing dramatic change and thrive in an environment of new innovative processes and technologies.
  • Leadership & Influence: For CAs who motivate and inspire those around them while driving their organisations toward diversity, inclusivity and success.
  • Sustainability & CSR: For CAs that are dedicated to making a positive impact in both business and wider society with deference to sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The successful candidates will be recognised in a highly-publicised list as the 35 CAs under 35 that are representing ICAS on the global professional stage.

In addition, a winner will be highlighted in each category for their work at the forefront of their respective industries and passions. A Global Influence award, for a CA who has made their mark internationally, and a discretionary Chief Executive award will also be presented.

Speaking at the 2017 Admission Ceremony, ICAS CEO Anton Colella said: "This competition searches to find the best and brightest young members in our profession. Not just someone who has done great things in their day job but someone who can see beyond the numbers and use their CA skills for the greater good."

One Young CA

The CA deemed overall winner of the competition will be named the ICAS One Young CA 2017.

In addition to the prestige and professional acclaim that comes with this title, the successful CA will have the privilege of joining the Chartered Accountants Worldwide delegation at the 2017 One Young World Summit in Colombia.

The 2016 One Young CA, Rimla Akhtar MBE, said: "Being a part of the One Young CA competition has been a fantastic experience: from being in Ottawa for the One young World conference to meeting some amazing young CAs, to being piped in at an ICAS dinner for the first time.

"I know there is still so much more to come and much I will be able to contribute to ICAS going forward. I'd encourage all young CAs to nominate themselves and others for this great opportunity."
