Deloitte has announced global revenues worth US$35.2bn (£22.9bn) – a 7.6% increase in local currency terms.

The Big Four firm, which employs 225,000 around the world, saw growth across all of its core businesses, industry sectors and regions for the year ended 31 May 2015.

Deloitte said that it had made significant investments across several business areas, including US$500m in advancing audit quality.

The firm's consulting area was Deloitte's largest global practice at $12.2bn, followed by audit services at $9.8bn.

Deloitte also added 62,000 people to its worldwide headcount.

Deloitte's results follow EY announcing an 11.6% increase in global revenue and PwC reporting a 10% growth in its UK revenue last week

He added: "Our growth is directly attributable to Deloitte's professionals, who serve the world's most important organisations with quality and distinction, making an impact that matters."
