Lorna Jack CA appointed Chair of Highlands and Islands Airports Limited
Lorna Jack CA has been elected Chair of Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) after serving in the role on an interim basis since October 2017.
Lorna is also the Chief Executive of the Law Society of Scotland and has been in that position for over 10 years. She is an Independent Member of the Court of the University of Aberdeen and a Trustee and Treasurer of the McConnell International Foundation. Lorna qualified as a CA in 1985.
Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, said: "I congratulate Lorna on her appointment as Chair of the Board of Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd on a permanent basis.
"She has performed admirably in the role on an interim basis, helping HIAL continue to deliver for the communities that rely on these vital air links. I look forward to continuing to work with her."
Jane Mackie CA joins Candidate.ID as CFO
Jane Mackie CA has been appointed CFO at Candidate.ID, the talent pipeline software provider.
She joins from Idox plc, where she worked for over 13 years, including five as CFO. Jane is also a Trustee of the Citizen's Advice Bureau. She qualified as a CA with Grant Thornton in 2005.
Jane commented: "I am delighted to be joining Candidate.ID. I can’t wait to begin implementing my knowledge and expertise within such a fast-paced and exciting company. The recruitment industry is undergoing rapid change and it is fantastic to be joining a company who are at the forefront of innovation."
Alan McQuade CA named CFO at ICR Integrity
Alan McQuade CA has joined Aberdeen-based oil and gas services group ICR Integrity as CFO.
He was previously CFO of Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd and leaves the company after nearly six years. Alan has also worked with PwC, The Weir Group and Baker Tilly. He qualified as a CA in 2006.
Alan's appointment comes at the same time ICR Integrity has announced Richard Wilson as new COO.
Chief Executive Bill Bayliss said: "We are pleased to welcome Richard and Alan to our 200-strong team, where they will support ICR’s growth... The experience and knowledge of both complement our strategic aims and will be a fantastic addition to the company."
IAASB announces new Technical Director
The International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) has appointed Willie Botha as Technical Director.
Having latterly served as Senior Executive, Assurance and Practice for the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), he brings a wealth of experience to the role. He was also a Member to SAICA's Assurance Guidance Committee and to the Audit Regulator’s Committee for Auditing Standards.
Lloyd’s of London confirms appointment of CFO
Burkhard Keese has been named CFO of Lloyd's after unanimous approval by the board. He succeeds John Parry in the role from 1 April 2019.
Currently, he is CFO of Allianz Deutschland AG and has been with Allianz Group for 14 years.
He commented: "It has been a tough decision to leave Allianz Deutschland, but I’m excited to join Lloyd’s in 2019 as its Chief Financial Officer. For me, it is an incredible opportunity to play a part in Lloyd’s success.
"For 330 years Lloyd’s has been taking on the world’s risks and that longevity demonstrates its enduring relevance. As one of the oldest and most respected insurance brands in the world, there is nothing else like it, and I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity."
