Donald McNaught CA named Head of Restructuring at Johnston Carmichael
Donald McNaught CA has been promoted to the position of Head of Restructuring at Johnston Carmichael.
He has been a Partner at the firm since 2014 after joining three years prior as Director of Insolvency. He previously held a similar role at Invocas Financial and was a Recovery and Reorganisation Senior at Grant Thornton. Donald qualified as a CA in 2001 with HLB Kidsons and acts as Convener of the ICAS Insolvency Committee.
He said: "I’m proud to be involved in the growth story for our restructuring business and look forward to continuing it as Head of Restructuring along with my partners Gordon MacLure, based in Aberdeen and Matt Henderson, based in Edinburgh."

Robbie Drummond CA promoted to Managing Director of CalMac Ferries
Robbie Drummond CA has been appointed Managing Director at CalMac Ferries after filling the role on an interim basis.
He has been with the company since 2017 and previously worked with parent organisation David MacBrayne Limited as Group Finance and Transition Director. Prior to that appointment, he worked with Invocas Group, HBOS, Idesta Group, Thus and PwC Corporate Finance. Robbie qualified as a CA in 1994 with KPMG.
David McGibbon, Chairman of David MacBrayne, commented: "Robbie's performance during his tenure as Interim Managing Director has been excellent during one of the most challenging periods in the company's recent history.
"CalMac Ferries' key task in the period ahead is to fulfil all of its commitments to its customers, stakeholders and to Transport Scotland under the terms of the CHFS 2 contract, now in its second year.
"Robbie's appointment will help us deliver these and reinforce our commitments to our communities."
Edwina Davis CA joins iQ Student Accommodation as Head of Tax
She joins from Empiric Student Property plc, where she was Head of Tax and Compliance. Edwina previously held a number of roles with EY, most recently as Senior Tax Manager, Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction.
She qualified as a CA in 2005 and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
FTI Consulting appoints Managing Director of Creditor Advisory Services
FTI Consulting has announced the appointment of Ali Khaki as Managing Director in the firm’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice in London.
Ali joins from Signal Capital Partners where he was a Director and has previously worked with Lloyds Banking Group and KPMG.
David Morris, Senior Managing Director and Head of Restructuring UK at FTI Consulting, said: "Ali has been a valued client of the firm for some years and I am delighted to welcome him to our team. Deloitte announces Director promotions and a new Partner in North East
Deloitte has promoted mergers and acquisitions specialist Dan Renton to the position of Partner in the Corporate Finance function. Dan has been with the firm for 13 years, having previously been an Assistant Director at PwC.
Seven new Directors have also been appointed in the Leeds office. Chris Hirst and Andrew Ward in financial advisory; Toby Jacklin and Gavin Richens in tax; and Peter Balmforth, Anna Dawson and Guy Hewitt in audit and risk advisory.
The Newcastle office has seen three Director promotions: Andrew Croft in financial advisory, Michael Cobb in tax and Natalie Healy in audit and risk advisory.
Ashley Lewis and Nathan McDonald have also joined the consulting team.
