Andy Skelton CA appointed CFO of Drax Group

Andy Skelton CA has been named Chief Financial Officer at UK power company Drax Group. He succeeds Den Jones, who has acted as Interim CFO since January 2018.

Andy joins from Fidessa Group where he held the role of CFO for three years. Prior to that appointment, he was Deputy CFO at CSR and has held senior finance positions at Ericsson and Marconi. Andy qualified as a CA in 1995.

Phil Cox, Chairman of Drax, said: "The directors are delighted to welcome Andy to the Board of Drax. He brings a wealth of experience and skills, and will be a strong addition to the Drax team. I also extend the directors' thanks to Den Jones who has done an excellent job as Interim CFO."

Rucelle Soutar CA named COO of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Rucelle Soutar CA has been promoted to the newly-created role of Chief Operating Officer at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

She joined the organisation in 2014 as Head of Finance. Previously, Rucelle was Finance & Operations Director at ProjectScotland and Head of Finance at Edinburgh Zoo. She qualified as a CA in 1997.

Rucelle said: "I’ve seen what we as a business are capable of and I am thrilled to play a key role in driving our vision of success, building our brand and expanding the global footprint of our business.

"For me, the opportunity to continue building a business of the size, stature and significance of the Tattoo was to be seized. I’m excited about our vision and ambition, and my role is key to giving more people the opportunity to enjoy the wonderfully rich and exhilarating Tattoo experience."

New Global Leader of Quality and Risk joins RSM

Marion Hannon has succeeded Bob Dohrer as Global Leader for Quality and Risk at RSM.

She joins the firm following a short career break, prior to which she was a Director with PwC. Marion worked at the Big Four firm for over 27 years, latterly specialising in audit in the health sector.

She commented: "The global network is committed to the provision of the highest quality audit services around the world and has already got in place robust policies and procedures to achieve this. I am looking forward to working with the technical team and building upon what Bob achieved during his time at RSM."

BT Group announces new CEO

Philip Jansen will take up the role of Chief Executive Officer at BT Group from 1 February 2019.

Currently Co-CEO at digital financial services company Worldpay, Philip has also held executive leadership roles with Brakes Group and Sodexo Group.

BT Group Chairman Jan Du Plessis commented: "Philip’s strong leadership has inspired his teams, successfully transformed businesses across multiple industries and created significant value for shareholders.

"His most recent success at Worldpay, a technology-led business, means he is well suited to build on the solid foundations that are in place at BT. I look forward to working with him to position BT at the heart of the UK’s digital economy."

AIG appoints Global Head of Specialty

American International Group (AIG) has named Peter Bilsby as Global Head of Specialty, operating in the group's energy, marine, aviation and credit lines businesses.

Peter has been CEO of the Talbot Group, AIG’s Lloyd’s of London insurance and reinsurance specialist, for two years and will continue in this role until a successor is found.

Christopher Townsend, CEO of AIG General Insurance International, said: "I’m pleased to appoint Peter to lead our global specialty businesses. Our clients and partners will benefit from Peter’s deep understanding of this sector and his leadership track record at Talbot."
