Alan Hamilton CA joins Johnston Carmichael as Director of Corporate Finance
Alan Hamilton CA has moved into the Director of Corporate Finance position at Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers.
He joins the firm after nearly three years at Deloitte, where he held a similar role. Previously, Alan spent nearly 10 years in senior finance positions with Clydesdale Bank and has also worked with the Bank of Ireland and Bank of Scotland.
Alan qualified as a CA with Coopers & Lybrand in 1998.
Claire Angell CA appointed Head of UK Tax for energy at KPMG
Claire Angell CA has been named as KPMG's UK Head of Tax for the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
Claire is a Partner at the Big Four firm and joined the company in 2003. She is a respected figure in the oil and gas financial arena and was awarded the 2014 Woman of the Future Award and featured in Accountancy Age's 35 under 35 list in 2015. Claire qualified as a CA with KPMG in 2007.
She said: "I am looking forward to bringing my experience of navigating complex tax issues in oil and gas to the wider KPMG energy sector, and building on the strong reputation we already have across Consulting, Audit and Deal Advisory."
AXA UK announces new Chairman
Commenting on his new appointment, he said: “I am looking forward to taking up my new role with AXA and continuing the excellent work done by my predecessor. I am joining AXA at an exciting time and am keen to get started working with the board to help the company achieve its strategic goals.”
UK Finance to hire Head of Mortgages
Jackie Bennett OBE has been named as Head of Mortgages at new trade organisation, UK Finance.
Currently Deputy Head of Compliance at The Northview Group, Jackie has held a number of senior positions in the lending and policy industries, including with GE Money, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Association of British Insurers and the Home Office. She received her OBE in 2010 for services to the financial services industry.
Jackie commented: "I’m delighted to be joining UK Finance. Housing rightly remains at the top of everyone’s agenda and I’m really looking forward to helping lenders support this whilst delivering the right results for consumers."
Deloitte names new Partner in leadership consulting team
Dominic Cook has been announced as the newest Partner in Deloitte's programme leadership consulting team. He joins from international law firm Bird & Bird.
Tim Parr, Head of Organisation Transformation and Talent and Capital Projects, explained: “Dominic has an excellent reputation in the market for delivering complex transformation programmes. He has strong commercial and practical expertise working on large contracts with complicated supply chains, which will complement Deloitte’s programme leadership business.”
