John Murray CA appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Flamingo AI
John Murray CA has been named Non-Executive Chairman of Australian artificial intelligence and machine learning developer Flamingo AI.
John is Co-Founder and General Partner of Technology Venture Partners. He has 25 years’ international experience in private equity and venture capital, as well as experience in non-executive roles in the technology sector. He qualified as a CA with Thomson McLintock in 1984.
Flamingo AI CEO & Founder Dr Catriona Wallace commented: “We are extremely pleased with the appointment of Mr Murray to the Chair role. John brings an enormous amount of experience in both the capital markets and growing technology companies globally. Serious Fraud Office (SFO) announces new Director
The Serious Fraud Office has appointed Lisa Osofsky as Director, effective immediately. Mark Thompson, who has been serving as Interim Director, has re-assumed his role of Chief Operating Officer.
Lisa joins from Exiger, where she was Managing Director, Regional Leader and Head of Investigations for the EMEA. She is a former Assistant US Attorney in the Special Assistant Fraud Section of the US Department of Justice (DOJ).
She said: "I am honoured to be the next Director of the Serious Fraud Office. I look forward to building on the SFO’s successful record in the fight against economic crime and leading an emboldened SFO to even greater heights."
New Finance Director joins Brewin Dolphin
Brewin Dolphin has named Siobhan Boylan to succeed Andrew Westenberger as Finance Director in early 2019.
Siobhan is currently CFO at Legal & General Investment Management and previously spent over 10 years at Aviva, latterly as CFO in North America.
David Nicol CA, Brewin Dolphin CEO, commented: “We are delighted that we have hired someone of Siobhan’s outstanding calibre.
"She will bring her in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, as well as management and technical skills, to Brewin Dolphin at a critical stage in our growth trajectory."
Capita appoints Chief Financial Officer
Patrick Butcher has joined the UK's largest outsourcer, Capita, as CFO. The company holds contracts for the London congestion charge, British army recruitment and BBC licence fee collection.
Patrick is currently Group CFO at Go-Ahead, a leading public transport provider. He has over 19 years' experience in finance director roles, including at Network Rail.
Capita Chief Executive Jon Lewis said: "We are looking forward to adding Patrick’s new perspective, energy and experience to support the good start we have made with our transformation programme."
Lloyd’s Market Association names new CEO
Following the announcement of David Gittings’ resignation, Sheila Cameron will be taking over as CEO at Lloyd's Market Association in early 2019.
Currently Head of International Operations at The Navigators Group, Sheila previously spent nearly six years in senior roles a Hiscox and was COO at Xchanging for four years.
She is also chairman of LMA Operations Committee and a member of the Target Operating Board Model.
