Stephanie Bruce CA appointed CFO of Standard Life Aberdeen
Stephanie Bruce CA has been named as Executive Director and CFO of Standard Life Aberdeen. She will succeed Bill Rattray in the role from 1 June 2019, assuming successful shareholder election.
She joins from PwC, where she has been a leading figure in the financial services function for close to a decade. Stephanie qualified as a CA in 1993.
Sir Douglas Flint CA, Standard Life Aberdeen Chairman, commented: "I am delighted that Stephanie will be joining us as CFO bringing with her extensive experience gathered over an impressive career in financial services."
Grant Porter CA named CEO of Atkins in the Middle East and Africa
Grant Porter CA has been announced as the Chief Executive, Middle East and Africa, of construction consultancy Atkins.
He has been with the company since 2009, based in Dubai, and has worked for IBM, British Polythene Industries, Worldmark and Hyder Consulting in the past. Grant qualified as a CA in 1995.
Nick Roberts, President of Atkins, said on his appointment: "Over the past 10 years, [Grant] has played an integral role in growing our regional business presence as part of the senior leadership team.
"As CEO, he will continue to drive our growth strategy and cement our regional footprint."
Alan Thomson CA joins Radius Housing as Director of Finance and ICT
Alan Thomson CA has been appointed Director of Finance and ICT at Radius Housing.
He was formerly Group Finance Director at Ballyvesey Holdings Limited, and was with the company for over 17 years. Alan qualified as a CA in 1997 with Johnston Carmichael.
John McLean, Chief Executive of Radius Housing, said: "We are delighted that Alan has joined our senior management team as Director of Finance & ICT. He brings a wealth of experience from a range of sectors, which will serve him well at Radius as we look to build even more new homes."
John Watson CA new Non-Executive Director on Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Board
John Watson CA has joined the Board of the SEC as a Non-Executive Director.
He is currently CEO of Crosswind Developments Ltd and is an Operating Principal for Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). John qualified as a CA in 2000.
Will Whitehorn, Chairman of the SEC said: "John brings with him a wealth of experience across the financial markets and infrastructure investment which will be invaluable as we look to secure funding for a major expansion of our facilities with the vision to create a unique global event campus."
EY appoints Global Managing Partner
EY has announced that Andy Baldwin will become the next EY Global Managing Partner – Client Service, effective 1 July 2019.
Andy will succeed Carmine Di Sibio, who will become the next EY Global Chairman and CEO on 1 July 2019. Andy is currently EY EMEIA Area Managing Partner, a role he has held since 2016.
Mark Weinberger, EY Global Chairman and CEO, said: “Andy has done a great job in his EMEIA role, executing our global strategy and bringing together diverse groups and regions to work cohesively towards our strategic priorities.
"I look forward to seeing the additional contributions he will make to the organization in this role with a global scope.”
Betsson names new CFO
Martin Öhman has been announced as the new CFO of online gambling site Betsson.
Martin is currently CFO of Upplands Motor and will join Betsson no later than 1 September 2019.
Pontus Lindwall, CEO and President of Betsson said: "Martin’s broad financial and management experience and his M&A experiences are valuable assets for Betsson."
New CFO appointed at Bitdefender
John Stynes has been named as CFO at cybersecurity company Bitdefender.
John joins the company from Verifone where he held the role of CFO for Russia and Europe.
He said: "I am delighted to join Bitdefender in this accelerated growth and transformation stage. I see tremendous potential for the cybersecurity industry in the coming years and Bitdefender has a strong position within it."
Navy Capital names new Head of Research
Chetan Gulati has been appointed Partner and Head of Research of New York-based asset manager Navy Capital.
Chetan joins Navy Capital from Smith Cove Capital as part of its investment team.
John T Kaden, President and Managing Partner, Navy Capital, said: "We are delighted to welcome Chetan to our growing team.”
Partner promotion at Hymans Robertson
Hymans Robertson has promoted Catherine McFadyen, an existing Partner in the firm to be its head of LGPS Actuarial, Benefits and Governance.
Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Catherine gained experience across a number of private sector areas, holding project and change management roles with British Energy, PepsiCo and PwC.
Catherine said: "I am excited to be taking on the responsibility for our LGPS actuarial and governance services at this important time and to ensure that Hymans Robertson continues to deliver market-leading service and support to all of our LGPS clients.”
