David Barron CA named interim CEO at Miton Group
David Barron CA has been appointed as interim Chief Executive by Miton Group as Chairman Ian Dighé moves into a non-executive role.
David was previously the group's Director of Investment Trusts and Product Strategy. He joined Miton Group in 2013 from the role of Managing Director at JP Morgan. He qualified as a CA in 1984 with KPMG.
Ian commented: "Over the past year, Miton has continued to build its distinctive identity as a genuinely active fund manager. The acceleration of our growth over recent quarters underlines our confidence in our prospects.
"Miton has an outstanding team, and along with a maturing range of funds, having reached £3.1m AUM at the end of February, we look forward to 2017 and beyond."
Pauline Hogg CA appointed Managing Parter at Condies
Pauline Hogg CA has been announced as the new Managing Partner of Condies Accountants and Advisors.
She joined the firm as a Client Advisor in 2004 and has over 15 years' experience in Scottish business. Pauline qualified as a CA in 1997 with a practice in Leith.
Former Managing Partner George Primrose said: “The appointment of our first female managing partner reinforces the progressive and forward-looking focus of the firm. I have worked closely with Pauline over the last 13 years and am confident that she is the perfect choice to take the firm forward.”

KPMG International elects new Chairman
KPMG have named Bill Thomas as successor to John Veihmeyer in the role of Chairman of KPMG International. He will take up the position on 1 October 2017.
Bill is currently Chairman of KPMG's Americas region and has been with the Big Four firm for 28 years. He was previously CEO of KPMG in Canada and has been a member of the Global Board since 2009.
He said: “It is a great honour to be elected Chairman of KPMG International. John Veihmeyer has been an exceptional leader and role model, who has strengthened KPMG immensely with his commitment to quality and integrity, and his focus on the culture of our global organisation.
"I intend to build on the foundation John has put in place, and help KPMG’s 190,000 professionals around the world to fulfil their potential and bring their best in meeting the rapidly expanding needs of clients. I’m convinced the next few years will be among the most dynamic our profession has ever seen, and I’m excited about the opportunities that are in front of KPMG."
New Partner joins Smith & Williamson
Smith & Williamson have appointed Richard Lewis as a Partner in its restructuring and recovery services team.
Richard joins from Grant Thornton, where he held the role of Advisory Director. Previously he was Director of Baker Tilly in 2009 and has worked with both EY and PwC.
He commented: “I am extremely pleased to have joined Smith & Williamson which has a growing reputation for the breadth and depth of services and senior-level expertise it is able to offer businesses.
“Although I am often appointed to deal with insolvencies, my primary focus is to work with owners, boards and other stakeholders to preserve the value within their business and help them to consider all the options, which might include restructuring, refinancing or a sale.”
MarketInvoice appoints Chairman of the Board
Giles Andrews has been made Chairman of the Board of Directors at MarketInvoice.
He is also Chairman and Co-Founder of Zopa, the world's first peer to peer lending business. Giles has over 25 years' of entrepreneurial experience and will be working directly with MarketInvoice Founders Anil Stocker and Ilya Kondrashov to drive scale in the business.
He said: "MarketInvoice is transforming the landscape of the business finance industry. I have long been fascinated by their game-changing and innovative attitude. I look forward to working with the team in channelling their drive and ambition.”
Giles received an OBE for services to Financial Services in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list.
