Katie Murray CA appointed interim CFO at RBS

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has announced Katie Murray CA will take over as interim CFO following the resignation of Ewen Stevenson who will vacate his position on 30 September.

Katie is currently Deputy Cheif Financial Officer at the bank and will take over CFO responsibilities on 1 October.

Prior to joining RBS, Katie held the position of Group CFO of Old Mutual Emerging Markets and was based in Johannesburg, South Africa where she was responsible for all Financial, Risk and Capital matter's covering the emerging marketgroup include Africa, Columbia, Mexico, China and India.

New Executive at Air France-KLM

The Air France-KLM Group has announced that Ben Smith will succeed Jean-Marc Janaillac as the Group's Chairman.

Pieter Elbers, KLM President & CEO, said: “I congratualate Ben Smith on his appointment and wish him the best of success.

"It is beneficial for the group that, following Jean-Marc Janaillac's departure in May, we now have clarity on the new AFKL CEO.

"It is with great confidence that I look forward to working together and jointly tackling the challenges that face AFKL Group in future."

Allianz appoints new CFO

Allianz Insurance has appointed Fernley Dyson as Chief Financial Officer, with effect from 1 January 2019.

He will replace Mark Churchlow who is retiring after almost 30 years with the firm.

Fernley is currently the CFO at Ageas, a role he has held since 2012 when he joined the firm. Before joining Ageas, Fernley was with Aviva for seven years.

Jon Dye, CEO, Allianz said: “We are delighted that Fernley is joining our management board to take on the leadership of our Finance teams.

He brings with him a wealth of experience in the insurance sector and has a strong track record in the fields of professional and financial services."

Executive appointment at WYG

Former PwC director Freddy Bob-Jones has joined UK-based professional services firm WYG as Africa Director.

At PwC, Freddy advised private and public sector clients on international development, strategy, and operations issues.

He brings over 17 years’ experience managing and delivering complex programmes in a variety of countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Iraq.

Jesper Damgaard, Managing Director, International Development, WYG, said: “Freddy’s appointment is an important move for WYG as we take steps to further enhance our growing capabilities and expertise in Africa.

"His extensive knowledge of the African market and global experience with international development and donor-funded projects make him a valuable addition to the team.”

New IPA Director of operations announced

The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) announces Alison Baptiste as their new Director of Operations.

With over 20 years experience of leading and delivering a wide variety of complex major projects at the Environment Agency, Alison Baptiste will now oversee the continuously evolving portfolio of the government’s most complex and high-risk projects.

Tony Meggs, IPA Chief Executive, said “The UK has developed a world-class cadre of project delivery professionals at the most senior levels and it is my pleasure to welcome one of them into the IPA.

"Alison has a wealth of experience and I have no doubt that she will have an immediate and lasting impact on the IPA and the delivery of projects in government.”
