STV appoints Lindsay Dixon CA as CFO 

STV has announced that Lindsay Dixon CA will be joining the media group in the second quarter of 2019 as Chief Financial Officer.

Lindsay Dixon will join from William Grant & Sons Limited where she holds the role of Group Financial Controller.

Prior to this, she was Group Financial Controller of The Weir Group plc. In addition to her core financial responsibilities, she has extensive M&A, investor relations and international experience. In her early stage career after qualifying at Deloitte, she held senior finance roles with Johnston Press.

Lindsay said: “I am really excited to be joining STV as the company progresses an ambitious growth strategy and look forward to working with Simon, the Board and the wider team at STV.”

Catherine Livingstone CA promoted at Wylie & Bisset  

Glasgow-based chartered accountants Wylie & Bisset has announced the promotion of Catherine Livingstone CA to Director.

Catherine will move from her previous role as Senior Manager to help grow the firm's owner managed business client base.

After qualifying with the firm, Catherine went on to spend 11 years there before leaving for a position at Allied Vehicles.

She returned to Wylie & Bisset in 2016 as a Manager in the firm's Business Services department.

Caroline Muir CA promoted to Partner at Deloitte

Deloitte has appointed Caroline Muir CA to the position of Partner in the firm's Business Tax team.

Caroline moves from her previous role as Head of Business Tax at the Big Four firm.

She joined Deloitte in 2002 as a Tax Manager before moving to Johnston Carmichael where she spent two years as Tax Director before being promoted to Deputy Head of Tax.

Caroline returned to Deloitte in 2016 as Tax Director.

Birmingham Airport names new CEO

Birmingham Airport has announced the appointment of Nick Barton as Chief Executive.

He will start his new post on January 7, 2019. Nick was most recently, from 2014 until December 2018, CEO of London Luton Airport.

Nick said: “I am thrilled to be joining Birmingham Airport to deliver the Board’s vision and strategy for this critical piece of national and regionally significant transport infrastructure.

"Birmingham Airport is on the threshold of a very exciting chapter in its development and I am delighted to have been given the responsibility to lead and shape the future of the Airport.”

New CFO at Hyperion

Hyperion Insurance Group has named Richard Houghton as Interim Group Chief Financial Officer.

Richard was most recently Interim CFO at the Co-Operative Insurance Society.

Prior to that, he was Group CFO at RSA Insurance Group and Aspen Insurance.

David Howden, CEO, Hyperion, said: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to the Group. His experience in the financial and insurance sectors, including 10 years as CFO in FTSE 100 and S&P 500 companies, make him a strong addition to our executive committee.”
