Iain Walker CA promoted at French Duncan
Iain Walker CA has been promoted to Corporate Advisory Director of French Duncan after just eight months with the firm.
Previously Senior Manager of the firm's Corporate Advisory Team, Iain returned to the UK at the end of last year from a number of senior overseas positions with KPMG and Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings.
He qualified as a CA in 2006 and is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Grant Thornton names new Chief Executive-elect
Peter Bodin has been elected to succeed Ed Nusbaum in the position of Global CEO at Grant Thornton International.
In addition to his work at the firm, Peter is an Advisory Board Member of Ledarstudion AB, a professional training and coaching specialist firm. He has led Grant Thornton's operations in Sweden for 16 years was Chairman of the Board between 2010 and 2014.
Commenting on his new position, Peter said: “My role will be to create an environment that allows Grant Thornton people and firms to collaborate, not just with each other but with clients and other stakeholders, to grow into the world’s best professional services organisation.
"That means building an innovative brand that stands out in the marketplace and having a resolute focus on digital transformation - of our own business and for our clients around the world.”
Prudential Chairman joins board of RateSetter
Paul Manduca, current Chairman of insurance giant Prudential, has also been appointed as Chairman of peer-to-peer lender RateSetter.
A well-respected figure in the City, Paul was formerly the CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management and of Rothschild Asset Management. He also chairs the Advisory Council of TheCity UK.
RateSetter Founder and CEO Rhydian Lewis said in a statement: "I am delighted that a figure with Paul’s stature has agreed to become Chairman of RateSetter at this important new phase in our development.
"Paul’s experience in asset management, his reputation as a business builder and his authority in good governance can help us enormously in our aspiration to make RateSetter a benchmark brand in lending and borrowing."
RSM appoints new Partner in Gatwick office
David Williams-Richardson has moved to the role of Tax Partner with RSM, specialising in employment tax.
Formerly a Director in Deloitte's Global Employer Services team, David has nearly 20 years' experience in the Gatwick market. He has worked extensively with clients in the aviation and travel sector.
Rowan Williams, RSM’s Office Managing Partner in Gatwick commented: "I’m delighted to welcome David to RSM’s growing team in Gatwick. David is well known and respected in the local market and his expertise will be invaluable to our clients in the Gatwick Diamond and across the south-east."
