Gordon McCall CA appointed as Dotmatics Ltd's Chief Financial Officer

Dotmatics Ltd, a leading provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, has announced the appointment of Gordon McCall CA, as chief financial officer. Gordon had been serving as interim CFO while in his previous position of associate director of Craig Corporate Ltd., a specialist consultancy firm based in Glasgow.

“Gordon has already proven that he is a valuable member of the Dotmatics executive team, and we welcome him to this appointment," said Alastair Hill, Dotmatics' director and chief technical officer. "Gordon’s broad background in accounting and business consulting will benefit Dotmatics we expand our product portfolio and grow the company across geographies."

Prior to Craig Corporate, Gordon served as a finance business partner at Texas Instruments' manufacturing plant in Greenock, where he was a member of the UK finance team responsible for facilities improvement, financial modelling, accounting and taxation. He also worked as a decision support manager at Royal Bank of Scotland.

“In my time with Craig Corporate, I worked with some fantastic companies, and I have not seen any company better poised for success than Dotmatics," Gordon said. "I'm excited about the company’s future and contributing to the growth of the business.”

PwC appoints new regional leader

PwC has announced Keith Harrington as Regional Leader for the firm’s operations in the South-East.

Keith has spent over 25 years with PwC and before returning to the UK, he was previously Assurance Leader and subsequently Managing Partner of PwC’s Middle-East firm.

Keith said: “The next few years will be key for the UK as we prepare for a new world beyond Brexit. I am confident that business in the South East will continue to look towards new opportunities to export and prosper.”

Chair of IFRS Advisory Council joins Oyster Property

Property and funds manager Oyster Property Group has named Joanna Perry as its first independent Chair.

Joanna currently serves as Chair of the IFRS Advisory Council, deputy chair of Regional Facilities Auckland and independent director on the boards of Genesis Energy, Trade Me Group and Partners Life.

Joanna said: “I will be using my mix of skills and experience to complement those of the existing team, as well as providing leadership and support as chair, during the next stage of Oyster Property Group’s development.”

Grant Thornton names new Partner

Business advisory firm Grant Thornton has announced Patrick Gallen as Partner of its People and Change Consulting practice in Belfast.

Patrick has more than 28 years’ experience in developing People and Organisation businesses on a UK and global scale.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining Grant Thornton, Ireland’s fastest-growing professional services firm, and look forward to sharing in what is a hugely exciting time for the business.”

KBS Albion announces new CEO

Business transformation partner KBS Albion has appointed Jenny Burns as CEO. Jenny joins the company from Just Group, where she was Director of Brand and Customer Experience.

She has also held senior roles at RSA Insurance, Barclays, HBOS and Telefonica O2. Jenny takes over from Paul Jakimciw, who left the company in late 2017.
