Jonny Jacobs CA named Strategy and Transformation Director at pladis
One Young CA Jonny Jacobs has moved into the newly created role of Strategy and Transformation Director at pladis UK & Ireland.
He was previously Head of Supply Chain Finance for UK & Ireland at the global biscuit and confectionery company and also operated as Interim CFO at pladis North America earlier this year. Jonny has been involved in some of the world's best-known brands, including Heineken, Diageo and McVitie's owner United Biscuits (now part of pladis). He qualified as a CA with KPMG in 2006 and was named ICAS One Young CA 2017.
Jonny is also a Trustee and Treasurer of Aspire, a UK charity that offers support and practical assistance to people paralysed by spinal cord injuries.
The announcement of his new role comes shortly after pladis named Nick Bunker as new Managing Director UK & Ireland.
Guy Jubb CA appointed Mazars Non-Executive Director
Guy Jubb CA has joined the Independent Non-Executive (INE) team at Mazars as part of the UK Public Interest Committee overseeing the audit business.
Formerly Global Head of Governance & Stewardship at Standard Life Investments, Guy has worked in numerous senior governance positions in the UK and US. He qualified as a CA in 1976 and is a member of the ICAS Council. Guy is currently an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh Business School.
Denise Fletcher, Chair of the Public Interest Committee, commented: "Governance standards and audit quality are vitally important to the firm. Guy’s experience and perspective will support the firm’s commitment to the application of the highest levels of oversight, and I am delighted to welcome him to the Committee."
New Partner joins Deloitte UK
He said: “I look forward to joining a market leading firm with the breadth and depth of capabilities of Deloitte and using my banking experience to deliver IFRS advice and solutions that are relevant to our financial services clients.”
Aviva Investors appoint Chief Investment Officer
David Cumming has been named Chief Investment Officer, Equities at Aviva Investors and will assume the office in early January 2018.
He was previously Head of Equities at Standard Life Investments and has nearly two decades' experience in the sector. His other appointments include Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, Edinburgh Fund Managers and Royal London Mutual.
David commented: "I am excited to join Aviva Investors, which has developed an excellent reputation for delivering solutions that meet specific client needs. I look forward to further developing its investment proposition across key equity asset classes and a wider range of investment solutions."
Marks & Spencer CFO announces resignation
Helen Weir has announced her intention to step down as Chief Financial Officer of M&S. She will remain with the company until a replacement is found.
Previously, Helen has worked with the John Lewis Partnership as Group Financial Director and held positions at Kingfisher and Lloyds Banking Group.
