John Watson CA takes on new development role 

John Watson CA has been named as Chief Executive of the newly-formed Crosswind Developments, an offshoot of the Edinburgh Airport development scheme which will see the creation of a 100 acre business and housing complex in place of the proposed secondary runway.

John was chief commercial officer at Edinburgh Airport, a role he assumed in January 2013.

Initially working as an engineer, John qualified as a CA in 1997 and  joined 3i plc as an Investment Manager.  Following this, he held a number of financial roles specialising in mergers and acquisitions and private equity.

Since then John has held a number of executive and non-executive director roles, including Lloyds Banking Group plc, Business Growth Fund plc and Craneware Ltd.

Carillion interim Group Chief Executive named

Keith Cochrane CA was appointed as interim Group Chief Executive at Carillion, while a search is underway for a permanent replacement.

Keith is the former Weir Group Chief Executive, and has been Carillion’s senior independent Non-Executive Director since 2015.

After several years at Arthur Andersen, he joined Stagecoach Group in 1993 and became its Finance Director in 1996 and Chief Executive in 2000. He joined Scottish Power in 2003 as Finance Director before joining Weir as Finance Director in 2006 and then Chief Executive from 2009 to 2016.

Lesley Watt CA joins Miller Developments as CFO

Lesley Watt CA has moved to Miller Developments to fill the role of CFO in the Edinburgh office.

Lesley was most recently a Non-Executive Director with Scottish Ensemble and has previously worked as interim CFO at Wemyss Development Company. She qualified as a CA in 1991 with PwC.

She has worked with a number of business in Scotland and has a wealth of experience as a Financial Director.

Calgary firm announces interim Chief Financial Officer

Alastair Robertson CA has been appointed to the position of interim Chief Financial Officer at Calgary truck manufacturing firm Tornado Global Hydrovacs.

Alastair  is an experienced financial executive with a career spanning over 30 years in Canadian business. He has been involved with the founding, growing, financing and managing of several Canadian private and public companies.

He joins the firm from CYGAM Energy, where he was Chief Financial Officer.

Lynsey Tremble CA announced as HSBC Head of Operational Management 

Lynsey Tremble CA has been announced as Head of Operational Management - Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

She has occupied senior financial roles in HSBC since joining the firm in 2014 as Europe Business Risk Manager, and became the Regional Business Manager for Europe in 2015.

Lynsey trained with Deloitte and qualified as a CA in 2011.
