Alan Henderson CA appointed to new role at Chevron Corporation

Alan Henderson CA has been named as Manager of Accounting Policy, Comptroller's Division, at Chevron Corporation in San Ramon, California.

Previously, Alan was Comptroller of the group's Nigeria Business Unit in Lagos and has also worked  as an Accounting Policy Team Lead for Upstream Finance. This new role will see him lead the team of Policy Analysts and Advisors in Chevron Corporation’s Accounting Policy and External Reporting group.

Alan joined Chevron from PwC in 2002 and qualified as a CA in 1992.

Shane Corstorphine CA joins Brewgooder board

Shane Corstorphine CA and Patrick Hartless have joined the board of brewery and social enterprise Brewgooder.

Shane is Senior VP of Growth at Skyscanner, having joined the company as CFO in 2012 and held several senior positions since then. He has previously worked with Barclays and RBS in structured finance and business management roles. Shane qualified as a CA with PwC in 2006.

He said: "I love everything Brewgooder stands for and believe it has all the elements needed to be a leading unique craft beer brand with a difference. I’m looking forward to joining the team and using my expertise and experience to help Brewgooder maximise its potential."

Alan Mahon, Founder of Brewgooder, also commented: “Shane and Patrick’s appointments reflect our growing ambition to be a social scale-up, something that is quite rare in the social enterprise world. By using the experience of Shane’s role in scaling-up Skyscanner into one of Europe’s biggest tech companies and a Scottish unicorn, we can apply some of those learnings to drastically increase the number of people whose lives we can improve with access to clean water."

Connor Agnew CA and Fiona Duncan CA named RSM Directors in Scotland

RSM UK has promoted both Connor Agnew CA and Fiona Duncan CA to the level of Director in its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Connor joined the firm in 2008 and qualified as a CA in 2011. This promotion follows a successful term as Associate Director of Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity within the London M&A team. He will lead the M&A and Private Equity team in Scotland from RSM's Glasgow location.

Fiona joined RSM's Edinburgh office in 2007 and has taken up the role of Accounting and Financial Reporting Director. She has more than 20 years' experience working with Scottish and international businesses across the board. Fiona qualified as a CA in 1994.

KPMG announces new Managing Partner in Ireland

Seamus Hand has been named as successor to Shaun Murphy as Managing Partner for KPMG Ireland, effective from May 2019.

He joined the firm in 1993 and was elected as Partner in 2002. Seamus has specialised in the Aircraft Finance; Asset Management and Banking sectors and has played a key role in the development of KPMG Ireland’s Tax practice.

Shaun Murphy commented: "Seamus has the experience, expertise and the personal qualities to successfully lead the outstanding professionals in KPMG. He, together with all of KPMG’s Partners, is committed to building on the firm’s strengths and continuing to provide world class service to our clients."

Royal London elects new Chairman for 2019

Kevin Parry has been announced as successor to Rupert Pennant-Rea as Chairman of Royal London, subject to regulatory approval.

Rupert has led the board for five years, having joined Royal London as a Non-Executive Director in 2012. He was elected as Chairman in 2013.

Kevin is currently a Senior Independent Director at Standard Life Aberdeen. He is due to step down from that role prior to joining Royal London.
