Claire Leece CA and Jonathan Lowe CA appointed RSM UK Regional Audit Managing Partners
RSM UK has named Claire Leece CA and Jonathan Lowe CA as Regional Audit Managing Partners in Scotland and the North.
Claire joined the firm in 2003 and has significant experience working with owner managed businesses, charities and educational organisations in the North East and Scotland. She qualified as a CA in 2014.
Jonathan has been with RSM since 2004 and is currently an Audit & Assurance Partner in the North West, specialising in technology, media and telecoms (TMT), distribution, and leisure and hospitality. He also qualified as a CA in 2014.
Both appointments follow the promotion of Alex Tait CA to Regional Managing Partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Jonathan Ericson, National Head of Audit at RSM, said: "I am delighted to appoint Claire and Jon as our new regional audit managing partners in the North East and Scotland, and the North West. B&CE appoints new Director in Policy and External Affairs
Gregg McClymont has joined financial not-for-profit B&CE as Director, Policy and External Affairs.
In his new role, Gregg will be leading B&CE’s engagement with policymakers, regulators and the wider world across its workplace pensions and occupational health businesses. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was Head of Retirement.
Gregg is a member of the ICAS Pensions Panel and was previously a Member of Parliament, Shadow Minister of State for Pensions, and an academic historian.
Johnston Carmichael recruits new Head of VAT & Duty
Nigel Roberts has been appointed Head of VAT & Duty at Johnston Carmichael as part of a move to strengthen their tax team.
He joins the firm from Deloitte, where he was Director of Indirect Taxes. He has also operated as Director of Tax and Operational Taxes at Lloyds Banking Group and was a Tax Partner at EY.
Nigel commented: "Tax is one of Johnston Carmichael’s strategic growth areas, I’m excited to become part of Scotland’s leading tax team and look forward to developing a market leading VAT practice. There’s a real need for an across the board indirect tax service in the market and I will use my experience to help businesses navigate the complicated issues arising from VAT legislation."
PwC names Financial Services Risk and Regulation practice leader
PwC has promoted Sarah Isted to the role of Financial Services Risk and Regulation (FSRR) practice leader.
She has been with the firm for 22 years, working at Partner level for the past 10. Prior to joining the FSRR team, Sarah was Head of People in PwC's UK Assurance practice.
She said: "I look forward to supporting our teams to help our clients navigate regulatory requirements whilst addressing the changing needs of customers. This is a dynamic industry and I’m proud that our FSRR practice is at the heart of it."
KPMG welcomes new Director to Asset Management Tax team
Jorge Morley-Smith has joined the Asset Management team at KPMG in the role of Director.
He was previously Head of Tax at the Investment Association for six years. Jorge has also worked with Deloitte and EY.
He said: "The issues surrounding tax and the investment industry more broadly are constantly evolving, both locally and globally. I look forward to helping clients understand and keep pace with that change."
